Description

ORIGINAL ANTIQUE VICTORIAN PUNCH MAGAZINE PRINT CARTOON 1876 ‘FUN’ ‘A CONTRAST’ SIGNED HS FRAMED. EQUESTRIAN HORSE CARRIAGE. COLLECTOR. PUB BAR. MAN CAVE. HOME OFFICE.

Dated 1876

A charming print/newspaper clipping from, I believe, Punch Magazine, dated 31st May 1876, signed with initials which look like ‘HS’, in a 1950’s frame.

‘FUN’ ‘A Contrast – Wednesday: To the Derby – Elation.  Thursday: To the City – Depression’  “Such is Life” And that’s the worst of it!

On the reverse side of the clipping is a ditty from the ‘Fun Office’ – ‘The Straight Tip’ and ‘The Sporting Prophet’ (please see pictures).

The print looks nice in the old 1950’s frame which it came in, but it would be possible to frame it properly in an older period frame.

Frame measures approximately:

8.5″ x 6.75″

or 22cm x 17cm

Print : 7″ x 6″

In Very Good Condition for almost 150 years old.
